Leading family lawyer moves to Challinors

Leading family lawyer Carol Clelland has joined the Birmingham office of law firm Challinors from Davisons Solicitors.

Prior to Davisons, Carol was Equity Partner and Head of the family department at Blakemores Birmingham for six years, and represents the third senior hire by Challinors’ family team in as many months.

With more than fifteen years experience in family law, Carol is a recognised specialist in child care and international child abduction cases. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel, Family Law Panel and Family Law Advanced Panel. She was with Blakemores in Birmingham and Leamington for a total of eleven years, before which she worked at Coventry firm Brindley, Twist Tafft & James and Wolverhampton’s Rees Page.

Fiona O’Sullivan, Partner and head of Challinors’ family team, comments: “Carol is an exceptional family lawyer and child care specialist, and her expertise, knowledge and skills are a superb addition to our growing, thriving team in Birmingham and across the Midlands.”

Challinors now has seven fee earners on the Law Society Children Panel – alongside Carol Clelland are Associate Claire Butterfield, Richard Gray, Consultants Angela Houston and John Chapple, Solicitor Fiona Bowen, and Associate in the East Midlands, Pramila Meghani.

Challinors Family and Child Care teams both scored highly in the latest edition of the Legal 500 Directory, which awarded the Family team the highest, First Tier ranking for the third consecutive year. The team is recognised for its high level of service which ‘exceeds expectations’, and Fiona O’Sullivan, is recognised for her ‘personable, prompt and efficient’ attributes and her expertise in the pension’s aspects of financial settlements.
