Bristol-based company Pieminister’s acquisition appetite grows

Award winning gourmet pie company Pieminister is continuing to seek out new prime locations following the success of its latest restaurant, in Leeds city centre.

The new unit at 15/17 Duncan Street – the Bristol-based business’s 10th outlet – opened in April and is already trading well beyond expectations, and now new sites are urgently being sought in Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.

“The Leeds location, adjacent to Call Lane/ Cloth Street and a few doors away from where Fives Guys are opening in July, proved perfect for Pieminister,” says Stuart Williams of property agents Williams Gunter Hardwick who are leading the hunt for the new sites. “And it has certainly demonstrated that there’s a real appetite in the North for the company’s gourmet take on pies.

“Now we want to build on that success in other major Northern and Midlands cities – typically in lively bar and casual dining areas.”

In total, Pieminister is looking to triple its current chain size up to 30 restaurants by 2020. Other targets include Brighton, Cambridge, Edinburgh and Bath, as well as further locations in London.

Pieminister offers a huge range of award winning pies, served-up with a selection of delicious sides and snacks, together with craft beers, ciders and cocktails. Since it began life in 2003 on Bristol’s Stokes Croft, the company has gained a national reputation, collecting a host of awards and selling their pies into Harrod’s.
