Rapleys acquire new store on behalf of The Co-Operative

On behalf of The Co-operative Group, property and planning consultants Rapleys has acquired the former Tree Stores unit, situated at Warmwell Road, Crossways, Dorchester.

Following the successful acquisition of the former Costcutter at Conway Road, Chippenham, Rapleys was instructed to find a suitable opportunity in Crossways, Dorchester.

The acquisition was subject to planning consent for the extension of the ground floor to create circa 3,000 sq ft. Planning consent was obtained by planning consultants, Stride Treglown.

The Co-operative completed their fit out in April 2015 and the store is now open for trading.

Adam Crooks at Rapleys commented:

“There was a lack of food retail in Crossways, with residents having to travel to Dorchester to satisfy their shopping needs. The subject property was a great opportunity for the Co-operative to gain representation in the village. It is well located in a prominent position on Warmwell Road and benefits from a high level of passing traffic along the B3390.”

Gareth Dexter, Regional Acquisitions Manager at Co-operative Group added:

“We have been looking to open a convenience store in Crossways for some time and the former Trees Stores unit is the perfect location. We are very pleased to have secured the property with Rapleys being instrumental in making this deal happen.”
