Commerical portfolio for Midlands agent boosted with award shortlist

Leading estate agent Pygott & Crone is tipped to become the best up and coming commercial agent across the East Midlands after being shortlisted for an award.

The agent has been growing its commercial property portfolio over the last twelve months which is now about thirty per cent of the firm’s work, as well as dealing in the sale and lettings of residential properties.

Pygott & Crone will learn if it is the winner of the Best Up and Coming Agent award at the East Midlands Business Link’s Brick Awards ceremony on Thursday 4th June in Derby.

Tim Downing, senior partner at Pygott & Crone said: “The last 12 months have been an exciting year for Pygott & Crone after securing multi-million pound commercial deals within the East Midlands.

“90 new houses are set to be built in a sought-after Lincolnshire village location thanks to a £2 million deal we secured with a local builder – this is a significant deal for Lincolnshire as the market is experiencing a lack of suitable housing and using a local builder for the work is better for the economy.

“Gainsborough is set to welcome a national hotel chain to the town thanks a deal we secured for the growing town, which will have a huge impact on tourism, jobs and the leisure industry.

“We’ve also sold the future of 18 acres of industrial land and commercial buildings on the South Humberside Industrial Estate. Housing 317 square metres of offices and 4662 square metres of warehouse space; this project supports the long-term Humber Estuary growth plans.

“At Pygott & Crone we’re committed to supporting investment and growth in the East Midlands. Our work in the commercial property sector aims to support this even further and create jobs through the sale of sites earmarked for key regeneration and development programmes.”

Already working from a London office and 11 offices in the East Midlands, the agent is keen to grow its presence in the south and develop its client base further in the region. Pygott & Crone plans to replicate its success in the residential field to become the ‘go to’ agency for commercial property advice.

Tim added: “We’re so pleased to be recognised for our work in the commercial property sector and to be shortlisted for this award after walking away with the title of Estate Agency of the Year 2014 at The Sunday Times / The Times. This is set to be another exciting year for the firm and we plan to be a major force in the commercial property in the coming years.”

Pygott and Crone has also won the following awards: Estate Agent of the Year at the Relocation Agent Network Awards, Best Regional Estate Agent for the East Midlands and Customer Relocation Award.

There are seven other categories in the East Midlands Business Link’s Brick Awards that will be presented at the event.

The Best Up and Coming Agent Award is sponsored by Bildurn.
