Promotions at Nottingham’s leading architect firm

As part of its ambitious strategy for growth, Nottingham architecture firm CPMG is bolstering its senior team with the promotion of four directors.

Hugh Avison has moved up the ranks to design director and Chris White, Anil Parmar and Paul Bodill have been promoted to project directors. All four will be taking on a lead corporate role within the practice.

CPMG director Nick Gregory said the firm has seen a significant period of growth – with the workforce having increased by 40% to 80 employees in the last couple of years.

Nick said: “It’s great that we have been able to reward the hard work of these individuals and also recognise their potential for the future during this period of protracted growth which the firm is experiencing.”

The firm has restructured due to expansion and as a means to manage the increased workload.

Hugh Avison, said: “I have been at CPMG now for 15 years and I am proud of how the practice has grown and developed over that time.

“I’m keen to continue this development and move the business into new areas – as a practice we will be investing heavily in our design capabilities, harnessing new technologies and driving innovation.”

Chris White, who has been with the firm for 12 years, said: “It’s great to have been promoted. I’ve been gradually getting more and more involved with the corporate side of the business as we look to continue building on the successes to date.”

CPMG provides design expertise in the built environment, and has expertise in architecture, interior design, masterplanning, visualisation and BIM.  The firm has secured a range of large contracts over the past six months including the design of Nottingham’s new multi-million pound biosciences building.

We’ve built up a reputation that has put us on a national stage and our aim is to really develop that image,” Chris added.

CPMG, based in Nottingham’s Lace Market, has become a prominent name on the architectural stage and has worked on several landmark projects including the new Art and Design Faculty at Leicester’s De Montfort University and the new visitor Centre at HMS Belfast in London.

Nick Gregory added: “CPMG is now looking to proactively manage its next stage of growth and reinforce its position as a leading firm, with a base in Nottingham, but a client base which stretches the length and breadth of the UK – and overseas.

We are focussed on continuing to increase the size of our business, as well as looking to grow the scale and complexity of the projects we deliver, the promotion of these directors will help us reach our goals whilst maintaining quality service to our clients.”
