Character offices in former county court building catch the eye

Property specialist Preet Singh says he is looking to do justice to the imposing former County Court building in Redditch.

It has been turned into a business centre, offering flexible space which is available for immediate occupation – already three suites been snapped up with the help of agents John Truslove.

Mr Singh, a director of Birmingham-based Midland Estates Management Ltd, said: “It has a real presence, is very attractive and full of character.

“It is right in the centre of Redditch with easy access to all the facilities the town can offer. We felt it deserved a new future.”

Totalling 10,000 sq ft, the property, part of which has recently been converted into a pharmacy, includes two large open plan suites including what was the main courtroom plus various smaller self-contained suites.

Mr Singh suggests the former would be suitable for the likes of leisure or training organisations with the latter of interest to SMEs and start-ups.

Ben Truslove, a director of John Truslove, added: “Rentals are being offered at very competitive rates and leases are flexible.

“Midland Estates have similar premises in Birmingham city centre and they use a standard tenancy agreement, which means that lettings can be completed within 24 hours of agreeing terms. We have had a significant number of enquiries and viewings, by various business types, already.”

Redditch Footcare Surgery moved from Ipsley Street in the town and quickly found their feet.

The firm, run by Graham and Julie Powell, carries out all types of chiropody and podiatry including hard skin removal, heel pain treatment, ingrown toenail treatment, toenail cutting and diabetic footcare.
It also has branches in Kidderminster and Worcester.

Galfarr Boutique is a recruitment consultancy, launched last September, that specialises in the placement of personnel to the fashion and retail industry – buying, merchandising, design, garment technology, graphic design, eCommerce, marketing and sales.

Joint managing directors are Lianne Ferris and Gemma Dixon.

Lianne Ferris said: “It’s going well, the offices are lovely, and, as we both live in the Redditch area, it is very convenient.”

She has a background in sales and business development while Gemma Dixon is an experienced fashion buyer.

And the third let has been taken up by Daryl Cave, of DC Mechanical Services, specialist in tractor repairs and spares.

A landmark building, the former County Court is located at the junction of Church Road and Adelaide Street.

A total of 5,000 sq ft is available at rents from £7 per sq ft, with individual offices from £250 per month.
