Second major investment in Basingstoke

Clients of Woodford and Company, AEW UK Europe, and owners of the highly successful 120,000 sq.ft. office building, known as Belvedere on Basing View, have made a second large investment in the Town by purchasing Intec Business Park.

The acquisition involves a site of 13 acres providing up to 250,000 sq.ft. of office and hi-tech accommodation, currently housing 20 companies, amongst which are Hammer Plc, Cobalt Telephone Technologies and Sunlight Services, now part of the Berendsen group.

AEW, together with Malcolm Hollis Building Consultants and DKA Architects, are progressing with plans to re-design some of the existing buildings to create around 25,000 sq.ft. of small industrial/warehouse units.  In addition, two redundant office buildings are shortly to be demolished and planning consent is being sought for up to 100,000 sq.ft. of B1, B2 & B8 space, in two buildings on a pre-designed to suit customers requirements.

Close to the entrance of Intec, which boasts a gymnasium and an on-site restaurant, are three good quality vacant office suites at Intec 2, which are available on flexible lease terms at a rent of only £7.50 per sq.ft.  One letting has already been put into solicitors hands and discussions are at an advanced stage on a further 6,000 sq.ft.

Woodford and Company are handling the project for AEW UK Europe as sole agents.
