Property adviser, DTZ has been appointed by Taunton Deane Borough Council to deliver its accommodation strategy.
A multi-disciplinary team involves DTZ’s Bristol Public Sector Advisory, Project & Building Consultancy, Office agency, Development Consultancy and Investment agency teams.
DTZ’s Public Sector Advisory team recently advised the Council on a preferred Value for Money Accommodation Solution for its headquarters which was to occupy surplus space at County Hall in Taunton.
The Council’s current HQ, located at Deane House in Taunton, is in need of a significant level of investment which is out of proportion with its value and building life. As part of prudent asset management, the Council wanted to find an operational accommodation solution that represented best value for money in the longer term.
The new strategy will also contribute towards the Government’s drive for public sector collaboration, embodied within the One Public Estate initiative, creating a ‘One-Stop-Shop’ for Taunton residents and businesses.
