‘Work-life balance’ to be a big attraction, as Kents Hill Business Park receives a £15m investment boost

Milton Keynes has been given another massive boost as a major centre of business location, with the news that a London property company is investing £15 million to transform Kents Hill Business Park into a premier location of choice.

After its £11-million acquisition of the site earlier this year, Circle Property Unit Trust is now investing a further £4-million on transforming two buildings at the prestigious site into premier Grade A office locations.

The refurbishment of 70,000 square feet of office space will place Kents Hill firmly on the map as offering the best office space available in Milton Keynes.

“Kents Hill Business Park is a key strategic acquisition, and provides us with an opportunity to elevate the scheme to a new level in the regional market,” said Ed Olins, Investment Director at Circle Property Unit Trust. “We are investing heavily in transforming buildings with a specification that’s unavailable elsewhere in Milton Keynes, whilst also taking a longer-term view on returns.”

The re-development of the two buildings will create office space offering superb facilities, including a double-height reception area, metal profiled suspended ceilings throughout, energy efficient LED lighting, and air conditioning.

Both buildings will also benefit from newly landscaped entrances, and impressive internal courtyards. There is also excellent on-site car parking.

Tenants will also have access to already established on-site facilities, including an international training and conference centre, hotel accommodation with 330 bedrooms, a top-quality food plaza, and a health and fitness complex.

“Kents Hill Business Park is all about work-life balance, offering a destination where an occupiers’ business can thrive – but just as importantly, it provides staff with places to meet and entertain, to share and compare ideas, to discuss concepts and collaborate,” said Ian Leather, of regional agents Lambert Smith Hampton.

“It’s an outstanding location for businesses, and as well as our clients’ investment in the buildings, the campus-style facilities at Kents Hill are also a significant draw.”

Jonathan Whittle, of Milton Keynes based agents Louch Shacklock & Partners, said the offices are in prime location for any national or international business.

“Each building has been designed with flexibility in mind,” he said. “The new offices are ideal for a business looking to occupy the whole of one floor, or even a whole building.”

“Milton Keynes is very much the place to be. The strategic location of Kents Hill is perfect, being so close to all major access routes – even international and European flight connections. This is why Milton Keynes, as a business destination, continues to flourish.”

The first fully refurbished and modernised office building at the Timbold Road site will be ready to host its first tenants early next year. The second will be ready later in 2015.
