Grant Watson receives New Year Honour

Alder King Property Consultants is delighted that their Chairman, Grant Watson, is among those recognised with an OBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours.
 
Alder King has just completed its centenary celebrations, and Grant has served the practice for 54 years holding the role of Senior Partner from 1977, until he took over his current role as Chairman in 2003.
 
During his career, Grant has demonstrated inspirational leadership, entrepreneurship and a passion for Bristol and the developing region and continues to influence and support development of the City and its prosperity.
 
He has made a significant impact on the continuing success of Alder King, and has long been regarded as the leading Surveyor in the south West of England, which was recognised by receipt of the South West Commercial Property Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
 
Grant has worked tirelessly for numerous charitable, sporting and community organisations, as well as devoting a huge amount of time and effort to the general business community.
 
In the challenging role as Chairman of Newport Unlimited from 2004 to 2011, he has brought together the public and private sectors to help create more than 3,000 full time jobs and a contribution of £218 million towards Newport’s economy.
