Harris Lamb celebrates tenth anniversary of its Stoke office

Harris Lamb’s Stoke office is celebrating its tenth year in business.

The Lakeside office at Festival Park opened in 2004 with two members of staff in response to an increasing level of clients and work in Staffordshire generated from Harris Lamb’s Birmingham and Worcester offices.

Over the past decade, the agency has continued to grow and expand in spite of the challenges presented by the poor economy. The office is now providing a diverse range of advice to include commercial property disposal and acquisition, landlord and tenant, rating, planning, building surveying, project management, valuation and development advice.

Andrew Groves said: “The past decade has presented some major challenges to the commercial property sector, with activity in recent years slowing and property development grinding to a halt for several years as investors and businesses tried to protect themselves during the recession.

“However, the Stoke team has formed a number of strong relations with businesses including Valad, Bovale, M7, Standard Life and St Modwen, as well as several of the pottery and ceramics companies the area is best known for. These long standing relationships continue to provide us with a thorough understanding of developments within the region.

“That insight, combined with the expertise and enthusiasm of our team, has helped us establish and retain a strong foothold in Stoke and the surrounding areas.”

The Stoke team now serves a wide area encompassing Staffordshire, Manchester and the East Midlands.

Over the past ten years, the office has leased or sold commercial space in excess of 3 million sq ft, and has most recently overseen the sale of 14 acres of residential development land in Stone to Taylor Wimpey and the acquisition of the 150,000 sq ft multi-let Parkhouse Industrial Estate, Newcastle on behalf of retained clients.

Andrew said: “We’re delighted to reach this landmark and we’re now in the process of putting together a growth plan to further diversify and extend our portfolio over the next three years.

“By working closely with our colleagues in Birmingham, Worcester and London, we’re in a position to be able to serve the whole of the UK, and with the market continually improving, we have high hopes for 2015 and beyond.”
