Morris Property awarded contract for Filtermist’s new headquarters

Filtermist celebrated the first step of moving to their new home in Nedge Hill, Telford with Morris Property who has been awarded the construction contract marking the occasion with a sod cutting event at the site where construction of the new headquarters has just commenced.

Formed in Bridgnorth, Shropshire in 1969, Filtermist International manufactures and markets Oil Mist, Fume and Dust extraction equipment for all types of manufacturing and engineering processes. With over 200,000 units in daily operation in over 60 countries, the company won a Queens Award for Export Achievement in 1990 and continues to expand its export operations as well as its UK client base.

The works at the new site comprise of the construction of a double portal frame building of 29,000sq ft to provide manufacturing, storage and distribution along with ground and first floor offices of 8,600 sq ft within the structure.  The building will be covered in a mixture of high quality rain screen cladding, curtain walling and profiled insulated cladding to the rear elevations.

External site works include concrete and block hard standings, car parks, retaining structures, landscaping, mains services and drainage.

Morris Property will be employing a number of professional partners to work alongside the construction team on this design and build contract. They will include structural engineers, architects and ecologists to assist in taking the design forward now that site preparation works have commenced.

The contract will also provide valuable work for the highly skilled contractors and labour force who work with Morris Property as part of the construction team. This will enable the project to be delivered on time and to budget.   The project is scheduled for completion in June 2015.
