Business people across Shropshire and Herefordshire looking to keep up to date with the latest changes in employment law can do so at a series of seminars next month.
Lanyon Bowdler will host three half-day sessions across the region during October, each of which will include guidance on such things as changes relating to holiday pay, the forthcoming introduction of shared parental leave and the new National Health and Work Service, which is intended to help employers deal with sickness related absences.
There will also be a special feature presentation on restrictive covenants, which can be invaluable in protecting employers’ business interests.
Lanyon Bowdler, which has offices in Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry, Ludlow and Hereford, has the largest Employment department in the region, which helps owner managed businesses and large companies with their employment law needs, providing practical support and advice alongside colleagues in fellow commercial services departments who specialise in commercial property, dispute resolution and corporate law.
John Merry, head of the Employment Law department at Lanyon Bowdler, said the seminars will benefit all types of business in Shropshire and Herefordshire.
He said: “Employment law changes so often that it can be difficult for businesses to keep up to date – but it is important that they do so in order to avoid exposure to liability.
“This is why we will be holding seminars at multiple locations and condensing the latest changes into half-day sessions delivered by our specialist employment solicitors.”
The first session takes place on October 7 at the Telford Campus of the University of Wolverhampton, there will be another on October 9 at the Wynnstay Hotel, Oswestry and the final session takes place at The Courtyard, Hereford on October 17.
Registration will be from 9am, before mid-morning refreshments and the opportunity to network, with the seminar expected to be finished by midday.
