Six new appointments and new EMEA role for DTZ Leeds

DTZ has expanded its Leeds office with the appointment of six new people. Steve Clarke has rejoined the company as a Director, together with: Surveyors Heather Smith and Josh Howe in Retail Agency; Rating Senior Surveyor Richard Gibala; Business Rates Manager, Catherine Hope; and Customer Satisfaction Analyst Caitlin Davis. Building Consultancy Senior Director, Philip Webb has also been appointed as DTZ’s Skill Head for Project and Building Consultancy in EMEA, assisting with the business development and growth of DTZ’s services in the wider EMEA region.

Steve Clarke has returned to the Leeds Project and Building Consultancy as Director responsible for leading the team locally. Steve is a Chartered Project Manager and Chartered Building Surveyor who brings with him a range of professional skills to help further develop the existing strong and skilled team. Steve will continue his current Project Management work for Aston University as well as other professional work for clients such as Evans of Leeds and The University of York.

Heather Smith joins the Retail Agency Team from DTZ’s National Rating Team having formerly worked at Harper Dennis Hobbs, London. Previous clients include William Hill, Timpson, Game and Aurora. In Retail Agency she will focus on Vodafone acquisitions and their requirement for 100 new shops by spring 2015.

Josh Howe joins the team from Fawley Watson Booth. His previous experience includes shopping centre leasing for institutional landlords including Hermes and Threadneedle and acquisitions for retailers including Card Factory. He was also responsible for the freehold public house disposals of Enterprise Inns and arranging retail development pre-lets for developers such as City Heart. His new role includes shopping centre disposals in Prince Bishops Centre, Durham, freehold and leasehold disposals of the RBS/Nat West portfolio and acquisitions for Vodafone.

Richard Gibala joins DTZ to carry out business rates appeals on behalf of a wide range of clients across a variety of property types. He was previously employed as a Surveyor with Altus Edwin Hill in Dartford where he undertook business rates appeals for clients across the whole of Kent and South East London.

Having previously worked at Allsop LLP, Catherine Hope joins DTZ as Business Rates Manager. Her previous clients include Travelodge Hotels Ltd, Moss Bros, LA Fitness and Fitness First.

Caitlin Davis joins DTZ’s Property Management team as a customer analyst focussed on client survey analysis.

Following his appointment as Skill Head for Project and Building Consultancy across EMEA, Senior Director Philip Webb will continue to be based in Leeds serving clients and developing new opportunities whilst co-ordinating the Project and Building Consultancy activities in the North of England.
