Johnson Fellows announces new partners

Leading chartered surveyors Johnson Fellows has appointed two new partners as the West Midlands firm continues to build on its recent successes.

Angela Sheen and Ian Starbuck both work in the property management division of the Birmingham-based company, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and have stepped up to the new roles from associate partners.

Angela joined Johnson Fellows seven years ago after working at Ohio-based Stark Enterprises, while Ian joined the firm six years ago, having worked in the Birmingham property market since 1998.

Their appointments come alongside Johnson Fellows’ solid growth over the past few years.

Johnson Fellows has established itself as one of the region’s leading independent chartered surveying practices, specialising in property management, professional services, building consultancy and more recently valuation, rating and industrial agency.

Earlier this year, it took over Salway Bradbury, based in Solihull, consolidating further its reputation on both the regional and national stage.

Angela previously worked 9 years for a property developer in Ohio before working at Johnson Fellows. She has been able to offer her invaluable skills and a customer-friendly approach in all aspects of her role within the business.

“Johnson Fellows has grown strongly over the past few years and I am pleased to have been part of that success story,” she said.

“Being appointed partner at the company was the next natural step in my career and it is an honour to have achieved this promotion. I’m looking forward to playing a leading role in expanding the department and growing the business.”

Ian, who gained a BSc (Hons) degree in Estate Surveying from Nottingham Trent University, started his career at Chesterton in 1998 before moving to Donaldsons and then King Sturge. He previously worked as an office agent within the Midlands market before moving into property management on joining Johnson Fellows.

“We’ve seen confidence return to the commercial property sector and our portfolio is developing substantially as we take advantage of the growing market once more,” he said.

“We are in a very strong position to continue growing and I am delighted that I have become a partner in a company that is highly ambitious, is clearly going places, and which can compete against the larger city firms.”
