Coventry design agency achieves significant growth

A Coventry-based design and web agency is celebrating its fifth anniversary and has doubled its turnover in the last two years.

CDPW, which is based at the Techno Centre at Puma Way, in Coventry, has achieved year-on-year growth since its inception in 2009 and is hoping to continue the trend with the support of Coventry and Leamington based accountants and finance advisors Harrison Beale & Owen (HB&O).

Owners Leigh Torrance and Ricky Bhogal have over 20 yearsof experience in the creative industry and set up the company to meet demand.

CDPW specialises in providing innovative design services including branding, art direction, graphic design, marketing campaigns, website design, illustration and video.

The firm works closely with itsclients which include local, national and international firms from a wide range of sectors and has enlisted the support of HB&O to help manage its finances and develop the business.

CDPW was also announced as this year’s winner of the Coventry Telegraph’s communications award.

Leigh said: “Harrison Beale & Owen came on board around 18-months ago and we have since achieved significant growth as well as a number of new big client wins.

“We have just been booked to create the branding for the Edible Garden Show at London’s AlexandraPalace which is a fantastic achievement for us and we have also secured work with international firm SMA Solar Technology.

“It can be difficult for a design agency outside of London to land a big client within that area but since the recession we have seen that more and more companies look for alternative agencies that can offer a high-quality service at a more affordable price.”

He added: “HB&O has played a major part in our success over the last year and we are looking forward to their continued business and accountancy support as we focus further on developing the business.

“The customer support we get is invaluable as they offer sound business advice which allows us to look at areas we can improve on.

“At the moment we have four permanent staff members and then freelancers are hired to support large project wins, however, we are also looking at the possibility of taking on a new graduate and HB&O will be on hand to advise us on the best route to take going forward. “

Wayne Gutteridge, of HB&O, added: “CDPW has had a fantastic year having secured a number of new clients as well as recording significant growth.

“We work with CDPW to not only provide bookkeeping, payroll and year-end compliance but to also focus on a number of measures that will help the company continue to grow and develop in the long-term.

“HB&O has significant experience working with SMEs to help them grow their business and we pride ourselves on going that extra mile to provide client-focussed services that are tailored to meet the needs of the business.”
