Automotive Brands moves up a gear

Midlands automotive after-market distributor Automotive Brands has announced new jobs and a major expansion.

With the help of Redditch property agents John Truslove, it is moving from Evesham to a larger headquarters in Bidford-on-Avon.

It is taking 7,206 sq ft at 30 Waterloo Road on Bidavon Trading Estate.

Currently employing 15 full and part-time staff, it will be looking for up to ten new recruits.

The premises, acquired as part of a six-figure investment, take in both offices and warehousing – they will house stock and allow some packaging and labelling work to be undertaken.

Entrepreneur Adam Weaver, who heads the business, said: “Automotive Brands is a brand development company that develops market awareness and sales channels in the UK and Europe for high quality products from worldwide automotive manufacturers.

“We currently supply a range of products to almost every motor factor and motor store in the UK with distributors and agents in many European countries. We can offer manufacturers a UK-based office with sales and marketing support which can be extended to warehousing facilities and distribution.”

The firm’s leading brands are Steel Seal, head gasket repair, Power MaXed, vehicle cleaning products, and J-B Weld, adhesives.

It has a turnover approaching £2 million.

Mr Weaver said: “It all began in 2010 when I secured European distribution rights on Steel Seal, a simple pour in product that fixes blown head gaskets, costing just £39.99 against £600-£1,500 for a mechanical repair.

“I felt it would sell extremely well, it proved a soar-away success and that gave me the confidence to pursue this element of the automotive market further.

“The new building is exactly right for us and offers the possibility of taking further space on the same estate in the years ahead.”

Products are now available in over 2,500 motor factors and motor stores across the UK and online via www.automotivebrands.co.uk.

John Truslove partner Ian Parker said: “Automotive Brands was looking for larger premises but could only identify very much bigger sites.

“The Waterloo Road unit is the scale the company requires and they snapped up the opportunity.

“It is a go-ahead business and I am sure it will continue to do well.”
