Growing, growing gone as Movember moustaches mown

Property specialists from Colliers International’s Bristol office were keeping stiff upper lips this week as they shaved goodbye to moustaches grown in aid of the  Movember campaign for prostate cancer.

Nine clean-shaven commercial property agents signed up for the campaign raising more than £500 for the charity.

National Offices Director Stephen Lipfriend said the prize for best rockstar inspired facial hair had been won by senior surveyor Ben Jones.

He said: “Ben had set his sights on Lemmy from Motorhead but ended up with a creditable George Michael with full top lip plus measureable sideburns, narrowly beating Nick More’s which bore a striking resemblance to Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers.”

Since its launch in the moustache capital of the world in Melbourne, Australia, Movember has  become a  global movement inspiring more than 1.1 million people to forego shaving for a month. In 2010, more than 112,000 people took part raising £11.7 million for the charity.
