Multimodal take-off for Logistics Hub UK

Sheffield City Region’s new Logistics Hub UK group will be officially launched at Multimodal – the UK and Ireland’s leading freight transport and logistics exhibition.

The event takes place at the NEC Birmingham between April 29 – May 1 with thousands of business leaders from across the country attending to discuss future supply chain and transportation partnerships.

Sheffield City Region’s Logistics Hub UK is a partnership of private-sector companies and the public sector to promote the region’s capabilities. The partners are committed to the growth and development of the logistics, distribution and warehousing sector in Doncaster and the Sheffield City Region.

Verdion, Gazeley, Peel Land and Property, Harworth Estates. Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield together with Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, Business Doncaster, Doncaster Chamber of Commerce and Doncaster College are the sponsoring partners of this initiative.

The group’s new website www.logisticshubuk.com showcases the availability of sites, workforce demographics in the Sheffield City Region, while promoting the area’s connectivity and multimodal capabilities.

It brings together all the competitive advantages of the region as the place to invest and highlights property and infrastructure developments, as well as key successes.

Steve Gill, chair of the Logistics Hub UK and managing director of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “Doncaster and the Sheffield City Region is already established as a leading logistics location. Logistics Hub UK builds on that success and creates a platform for existing companies and new investors to access development opportunities, available property, training as well as all the benefits of locating in the region.
