The Oakham Heights development when complete will consist of over 1,000 new homes along with 30 acres of commercial development including offices, a hotel, open space and an enlarged home for the Rutland County Showground.

The site fronting the A606 Oakham bypass will be designed to provide 4 pump islands together with a forecourt shop of 276 m2 plus car wash and ample customer parking.

Construction on the new site is due to commence shortly.

Mark Frostick of Rapleys who acted on behalf of Hawksmead Ltd commented. “We have seen increased demand in the last 12 months for new to industry sites and not just from supermarkets. We would expect to see developers to continue to offer sites such as this to the market as a petrol station can be a significant asset to a new development.”

Peter Leverett of SPACE – Retail Property Consultants, who advised the purchaser commented ”This is a significant, new to industry PFS site and will be a welcome addition to the town of Oakham which is currently under provided for in terms of a quality, modern fuel retail offer which this development will deliver“
