Training provider moves into city centre

An expanding training provider has moved into new city centre premises in Nottingham in a deal secured by commercial property consultant Innes England.

Learning Unlimited is the fastest developing provider of apprenticeships in the East Midlands and works with employers to provide bespoke and industry relevant training.

The firm has expanded by taking on the first floor of 15 Castle Gate in the city centre.

Head of business development at Learning Unlimited, Jennie Spendlove, said the move would enable the company to build on its success in growing its business in Nottingham and the surrounding area.

“We continue to build excellent working relationships with employers, providing products and services which have tangible benefits to businesses and the new premises will allow us to broaden our offer and accommodate the delivery of training within the city centre”, Jennie said.

In addition to staff growth this move will also see the launch of a Nottinghamshire Apprenticeship Academy. With existing branches in Derby and Chesterfield, the Academy has a primary objective to prepare young people for the world of work and support young people to secure sustainable employment.

The letting of the premises was handled by Giles Davis from Innes England’s Nottingham office.

Giles said, “The accommodation is a good fit for Learning Unlimited.
The prominent first floor location in an area with a good level of footfall means excellent visibility to attract customers.

“We are seeing a number of education organisations, such as Learning Unlimited, looking for premises in the city centre where it is easy for people to access the services.

“The users of these types of services and training are people looking for employment so the fact that the facilities are easily accessible will benefit both the individual and the wider community.”

Jennie Spendlove agreed the Castle Gate premises offered the ideal location for Learning Unlimited adding: “The new premises have provided what we were looking for with flexibility to accommodate both staff and students”.

Prior to the letting, owner Texas Group plc refurbished the building including the 2,300 sq ft office space on the first floor including retaining its attractive Victorian façade.

David Tyson from Texas Group plc said: “Following our extensive investment to refurbish the building, Innes England worked with us to identify the type of business that would suit the space and then created a marketing strategy which resulted in a swift deal.”

As well as offering apprenticeships, Learning Unlimited provides business-focused training for companies in the East Midlands to meet the needs of employers. The organisation currently has over 2,000 apprentices in learning with almost 1,000 different employers and generates on average 100 apprenticeship vacancies every month.
