Creative Risk Solutions Broker Insurance Deal for Celtic Manor Resort

Creative Risk Solutions, one of the leading corporate risk management and insurance brokers in Wales, has secured a new insurance deal for the world renowned Celtic Manor Resort.

The Cardiff-based specialist broker constructed the bespoke insurance programme based on a detailed knowledge and appreciation of the risks associated with the five-star resort.

The three-year deal, which will cover amongst other things the resort liability, business interruption, terrorism and resort vehicles, has been placed with German insurance giant Allianz Commercial following a competitive tender.

The new deal extends Creative Risk Solutions’ four year relationship with the award-winning resort, which has seen it source insurance for the 2010 Ryder Cup, one of the world’s largest sporting events, the Wales Open and its first ever polo tournament, Polo at the Manor.

The latest policy includes cover for risks associated with the Resort’s new Forest Jump treetop high ropes course and a magnificent festival of fireworks on 5th November.

Mark Colcomb, vice president of finance at the resort, said: “We have been working with Creative Risk Solutions for a number of years so they have a thorough understanding of our business and the risks associated with it. Due to the number of high profile events that we put on, and our plans to expand our facilities to offer more adventure-based activities, our risk management needs are extremely high level and exacting.  Creative Risk Solutions has been able to develop a bespoke insurance package and help us source a provider that is competitive in price and provides the strongest level of cover.”

Jan Wilkins, Managing Director of Creative Risk Solutions, said “We are delighted to extend our relationship with the Celtic Manor Resort through this new insurance deal. It is a sign of the strength, depth and experience that we have within our team to be providing risk management solutions to a hotel of the Celtic Manor’s calibre that has been put on the World map through hosting the Ryder Cup.

“The Celtic Manor Resort is a tremendous client for us, requiring a sizeable locally-based client service team, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on their insurance needs.”

Steve Coates, head of property and casualty at Allianz Commercial, said: “The package we have developed for the Celtic Manor Resort offers a very specialised solution that is ideal for niche client markets.

“There are not many insurers that can write something of this size and complexity, but we have a number of clients of this size and scale, so we have the expertise.”
