BPP snaps-up latest spot at One Reading Central

National training company BPP has signed for premium office space at One Reading Central.

Acting on behalf of SWIP (Scottish Widows Investment Partnership) and Kier, national commercial property consultancy, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Hanover Green have let part of One Reading Central to UK training company BPP.

Represented by Jaggard Baker, BPP has taken 6,880 sq ft on the first floor of the property at £30 per sq ft on a 15 year lease.

Prompted by a lease end, the company is relocating from Aquis House on Blagrave Street in Reading to One Reading Central on Forbury Road, Reading. BPP chose One Reading Central because of its status and proximity to the station.
Simon Harper, Partner at Jaggard Baker, said: “BPP wanted high quality offices, close to the station with enough space and the right facilities to meet their training needs. One Reading Central was the perfect solution – the right space, located close to Reading railway station, in the centre of town and with a wide range of facilities close by.”
BPP offers professional education and has been preparing clients for professional bodies examinations for over 35 years. The Reading site is one of the company’s UK-wide study centres. The centre offers a full range of exam-focused courses taught by a dedicated lecturing team in classes of no more than 45 people.
The deal follows the recent fourth floor letting of One Reading Central to PWC who acquired 22,584 sq ft on a 10 year lease in July this year, also at £30 per sq ft.
Other occupiers in the property include digital service provider Hibu and Pegasystems.
Head of Lambert Smith Hampton’s Reading office, Nick Coote, said: “Reading stands at the confluence of so many major road, rail and air links, so you only have to look at a map to see why it has become such an important centre of commerce in the Thames Valley.

“There is a real lack of quality office supply in the Thames Valley, as highlighted in our recent Thames Valley report, so as quality stock becomes available it is flying out of the window. One Reading Central is the crème de la crème of office buildings in Reading and we are really pleased that BPP has managed to secure this space.”

There is still space to let or rent at One Reading Central: 10,400 sq ft on the first floor and 22,500 sq ft on the second floor. Interested parties should contact Nick Coote at Lambert Smith Hampton or Kevin Hawthorn at Hanover Green.
