Frontline hails manufacturing recruitment boom

Frontline Recruitment, the East Midlands- based recruitment specialist, is hailing a rise in new manufacturing placements as a sign that the economic recovery is well underway.

Frontline, which recently announced a 40 per cent rise in revenue for the first six months of 2013, has seen the majority of new clients – some 44 per cent – come from manufacturing companies, mirroring recent Manufacturing Advisory Service figures that the sector is leading the UK out of recession.

Tony Wilmot, director of Frontline Recruitment, said: “We’ve seen a huge rise in demand for staff from the manufacturing sector, and this is excellent news. Those in the manufacturing sector are looking to “try before they buy” as orders improve and the demand for staff increases, and this is reflected in our figures. There’s no doubt that the finger is on the button as far as economic growth is concerned.”

Frontline is experiencing the demand for manufacturing staff after the Manufacturing Advisory Service reported that 54 per cent of SME manufacturers reported an increase in sales in the first half of the year, with 63 per cent predicting further growth over the next six months.

Tony added: “The manufacturing sector is often a good barometer as to where the economy is, and at Frontline we’re ideally situated to respond to this. We’ve seen that 42 per cent of manufacturing SMEs – the lifeblood of the local economy – are planning to hire new people. We’re delighted that they’re coming to Frontline for their new recruits.”

Frontline has recently expanded with the opening of a Facilities Management department, and is finding that its clients are expanding their teams. Tony says the company is looking at record full year results for 2013.

He added: “Our team is responding well to the recovery and everybody is pulling in the right direction to make Frontline Recruitment a success. We’ll be looking to expand the workforce in the second half of 2013 to meet this rising demand for our services. We think we can offer the full package to growing companies looking for extra staff, and we look forward to helping them grow – whatever sector they work in.”
