Capita Business Services has chosen Cardiff’s tallest office building, Capital Tower, as its base for a new operation in the city.
The company, part of multidisciplinary consultancy Capita plc, the largest business process outsourcing company in the UK, has taken a 10 year lease of part ground and fifth floors at the landmark building, totalling 2,649 sq ft at a headline rent based on £12.50 per sq ft per annum.
Landlord Topland is advised on new lettings at the building by the Cardiff offices of Knight Frank and Fletcher Morgan. Mark Sutton, associate at Knight Frank, said: “This is a great result for Capital Tower and securing a blue-chip tenant on a 10 year lease shows the attraction of this landmark building to occupiers. Following on from the Law Society’s recent commitment to their future in the building, this latest letting demonstrates the increased office activity in the 2nd quarter and improving sentiment in the Cardiff office market.”
John James of Fletcher Morgan said: “Capital Tower is situated within Cardiff’s core office and leisure district, next to the Hilton Hotel and close to the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff University and St David’s Shopping Centre. Its position in the heart of the city centre continues to prove popular with occupiers.”
The Topland Group acquired Capital Tower and Friary House in Cardiff in August last year. William Davies of Topland said: “We are delighted to welcome another FTSE 100 company to the building. This is an important letting to us and, together with the refurbishment of vacant space and works to the reception, shows our commitment to revitalising this landmark building to provide excellent value space in the heart of Cardiff.”

Following the recent deals at Capital Tower there are offices on the 3rd floor from 1,000 sq ft to 5,500 sq ft and the 4,650 sq ft 15th floor benefits from spectacular views across Cardiff and beyond.
