Recruitment specialist supports North Devon manufacturers

South West recruitment specialist Acorn has demonstrated its support for manufacturers in the area by sponsoring the North Devon Manufacturers Association’s (NDMA) annual awards.

This was the first year that Acorn sponsored the Customer Services Award (bronze level) which was won by Whiteland Engineering Ltd Torrington Lane, Bideford.

Trudi Spratt, Business Development Manager for Acorn’s South West Division, said: “The NDMA provides a vital service in North Devon, representing the interests of manufacturing and supporting service industries in the area. Acorn has worked alongside the organisation for a number of years and was only too happy to show its support for these prestigious awards.

Paul Mullen, from Anglo American Vulcanised Fibre Limited – winner of the Manufacturer of the Year and Environmental Project of the Year Awards – who collected the Customer Services Award on behalf of Whiteland Engineering Ltd, said: “The NDMA Awards are a fantastic occasion for all involved in the manufacturing industry in North Devon to meet and focus on the last year’s achievements. This year’s event was held in Barnstaple and categories included Manufacturer of the Year, Small Manufacturer of the Year, Team of the Year and Apprentice of the Year.

The NDMA promote, through meetings, lectures, representation, networking, visits and social events, the development of manufacturing and supporting services businesses in order to achieve full potential.
