Building upwards as award-winning practice makes two new appointments

One of the region’s most progressive architectural practices, rg+p – which has recently launched in London – has announced two new appointments at their Leicester office, as the practice continues to expand.

Architect Paul Keskeys, who studied architectural design at Edinburgh University and achieved his Certificate in Professional Practice and Management – RIBA Part III from UCL – The Bartlett, says rg+p stands out as dynamic and forward-thinking and is exactly the type of practice he envisaged would help develop his long-term career ambitions. Paul is hoping his creativity and love of architecture will help establish him, in time, as a project architect working on one-off public buildings, such as libraries and museums.

Avidly interested in architectural photography and journalism, Paul recently completed a round-the-world-trip which took him to the USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Now firmly ensconced in rg+p’s offices in New Walk, Paul is hoping to relocate to Leicester from Market Harborough, an altogether shorter trip!

Joining Paul at the New Walk practice is senior architectural technician Rob Forbes. Rob has a vast breadth of experience in listed buildings, housing developments, bespoke high end residential and major healthcare projects. A former associate director with Ross Thain & Co Ltd, Rob previously worked with rg+p and was aware of company’s reputation as an innovative, progressive architectural practice and jumped at the chance to re-join the team and fulfil his ambition to become a fully qualified architect. Impressively, Rob had a previous architectural project filmed for television, logging over 80,000 blog views of the scheme, highlighting both his passion and talent for architecture.

Rob said, “Having already gained a wealth of experience within the profession, I’m now keen to utilise this experience in order to continue with my professional growth and further support the practice as it develops expertise in new and varied sectors.”

rg+p’s managing director, Bill Smedley concluded: “The new addition of Paul and Rob to the Leicester office demonstrates not only rg+p’s expansion programme, but how we are continuing to develop talent at every level. We warmly welcome the new recruits and wish them the best of luck as they join us to progress their careers.”
