South Wales Chamber of Commerce aims to break the record for largest facilitated networking breakfast

The South Wales Chamber of Commerce is aiming to break the record for the largest facilitated networking event in Wales, with Wales’ Largest Networking Breakfast on Thursday 27 June at Cardiff City Stadium.

More than 360 businesses from across Wales are expected to come together to network and forge new connections, topping the turn out for last year’s event which attracted around 340 members of the Welsh business community.

Dedicated hosts will be on-hand to facilitate the networking as businesses move between three tables to maximise their opportunities to make new contacts. At the end of the event, which is sponsored by Milford Capital Limited and Pinnacle Complete Office Solutions, each business will have had the opportunity to meet at least 30 new contacts.

For the first time the event will also raise funds for the Chamber’s charities, Disability Sport Wales, Ty Hafen and Tenovus.

Graham Morgan, director of the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, said: “For the last two years there has been a real buzz around Wales’ Largest Business Breakfast and each event has been a great success. This year have set our sights even higher and want to make it our biggest event yet.

“In today’s competitive environment, businesses need to give themselves the edge, and effective networking is a crucial way to meet potential clients and gain access to new markets. By bringing so many different businesses from across Wales together under one roof, we hope to offer them the opportunity to make new connections that will be of real value.

“For the first time we will also be raising money for the South Wales Chamber’s supported charities and so for every business that attends, a portion of their entry fee will go to a good cause.”

Liz Maher, director at Newport-based Centurion VAT Specialists, said: “Centurion has attended the South Wales Chamber’s networking breakfast and business exhibition since it was launched two years ago.

“With marketing budgets tight, businesses need to choose the functions they attend carefully and there is no other event in Wales that guarantees such wide exposure. The South Wales Chamber has links with businesses throughout Wales and as it grows and expands into mid Wales, new opportunities will continue to be opened up.

“As such, this event offers businesses a real platform to showcase their talents and display their branding to a huge audience.

“Centurion has just won the award for Best VAT Team at the National Taxation Awards and I have no doubt that the exposure we have received through these events has directly contributed to this success.”
