Gifts company gives itself a large present!

DSC_9640mfA Lincolnshire gifts wholesaler is looking to an even brighter future after “treating itself” to new premises.

Lincoln-based chartered surveyor Bank Long & Co today revealed that Gainsborough Giftware is in expansion mode – and has called on its expertise to help it switch to a larger site and also find a buyer for its current headquarters.

Family-run Gainsborough Giftware, which currently employs about 20 people, is consolidating its interests in a move which will allow the business to provide an even slicker service to its customers across the UK and Europe.

The company, which is headed by directors Peter and Pam Drinkall and their son Tom, has been going since 1977 and all its staff will be moving to the new unit on Caldicott Drive.

Meanwhile Banks Long is seeking another buyer for the firm’s current headquarters on the Corringham Road Industrial Estate.

Gainsborough Giftware is also relinquishing a major storage facility on Lockwood
Road as part of its move.

Director Tom Drinkall said: ““We sell all sorts of popular giftware to retailers across the UK and abroad, including large and small businesses, right down to mums who decide they want to run an online giftware enterprise from home.

“Customers personally visit our premises, or order online or through our
agents who are out on the road. It’s exciting because, doing so much business
online, means you never know what volumes are going to come in.

“I think the success of our business is down to the fact that our customers
can buy things they don’t find everywhere else and they can also order in
relatively small quantities.

“We’re really busy, but we make sure that we deal with our customers face-to-face
as much as possible, hence we have two agents out on the road.. We also have a loyal workforce, which includes people who have been with us for many years.

“We are hoping to move into our new premises in about two weeks’ time and
we look forwards to having everything from our sales, administration, storage
and despatch facilities under one roof.”

Banks Long & Co Director William Wall said: “As soon as we were made aware of Gainsborough Giftware’s requirements, we knew the Caldicott Drive site would be
ideal for the company’s purposes and, therefore, we were able to close the deal
quickly.

“We are sure these premises will make a real difference to the firm’s business operations.

“We are also pleased to be offering an “all-round” service to the business, which
has led us to being retained by them to find a buyer for its Corringham Road
Industrial Estate unit.”
