Cake Communications strengthens team with a new Senior Account Executive

Cardiff-based Cake Communications has recruited a new Senior Account Executive as part of its ambitious growth plans.

The award-winning communications consultancy has appointed Martin Sparey, 22 from Fareham, Hampshire.

Mr Sparey graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in English Language and Communication in 2011 and, in the following year, he undertook a master’s degree in Political Communications.

In his position, Mr Sparey will take responsibility for managing client accounts and implementing communication campaigns to help clients achieve their business or organisational goals. He will be working across a variety of B2B and consumer clients.

Cake Communications was established in 2011 by former journalist and current Institute of Directors Young Director of The Year Sara Robinson.

Based in Caspian Point in Cardiff Bay, Cake is an independent communications agency offering bespoke, multi-platform PR campaigns, digital strategy, marketing, social media management and training.

Cake’s client base includes organisations in the legal, education, sporting, retail, property, technology, construction, environmental and charity sectors. Clients include the Douglas-Jones Mercer Solicitors, High Performance Computing Wales, The College Ystrad Mynach and Park House Club.

Having previously worked at Heathrow’s press office during the London 2012 Olympic Games, Mr Sparey developed his media experience in a highly-pressured environment.

Mr Sparey said:
“I’m thrilled to join such a creative and forward-thinking agency. The business is certainly developing and moving in a direction that excites me. I am looking forward to becoming a key part of Cake’s bright future.”

Sara Robinson, Managing Director of Cake, said:
“I am thrilled to welcome Martin to the team. His talent and enthusiasm is exactly what we need to take the business to the next level.”
