New joint venture tyre company will create jobs in Lincoln

A newly formed joint venture company forged between two leading Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire companies is to open a state-of-the-art tyre and exhaust facility at the Pelham Centre in Lincoln, a development that will create six new jobs with a promise of more to come.

This follows the securing of a new 10 year lease on unit 7 at the Pelham Centre to ZR Tyres Limited by Hodgson Elkington LLP; the Lincoln based chartered surveyors acting on behalf of Pelham Centre owners, Howtin Investments Ltd.

The Pelham Centre with over 160 parking spaces is already home to Machine Mart, Portland Tools, Elixir Bathrooms, Mattressman, John Cheatle (Uniforms) & Party Planet as well as major headquarters for Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership & Lincoln College.

Now ZR Tyres, a corporate marriage between two well-known regional tyre and exhaust companies, Newark based Tanvic Group Limited and B A Bush Limited based at Horncastle, will be investing a ‘six figure’ sum to transform the premises, formerly occupied by Autofix, and install the latest garage equipment in advance of an opening expected to be in April 2013.

“We feel very optimistic about the future of this new business. It is a natural progression of the strong relationship the two companies have developed and we look forward to a bright future ahead serving the motoring public of Lincoln and the surrounding area,” said Steve McCracken, a director of ZR Tyres, who added that a similar joint venture company set up in High Wycombe had proved very successful.

“We will be investing a six figure sum into completely refurbishing and installing new garage equipment. Six new jobs will be created initially and we would expect more as the business develops,” added Mr McCracken.

“The business will be ideally situated adjacent to the Pelham Bridge dual carriageway, one of the busiest roads in Lincolnshire. With the proven track record of two well established and respected businesses both in private ownership and located midway between their respective homelands, ZR Tyres has the potential to be very successful. We wish them well,” said Dan Race, partner at Hodgson Elkington LLP.
