Bristol’s tallest building on the rise as new deals flood in

Space in one of Bristol’s most iconic buildings has been let to two new businesses in deals conducted by leading property consultants Jones Lang LaSalle jointly with Hartnell Taylor Cook.

The 17 floor Castlemead, Cabot Circus is the tallest building in Bristol and has been fully refurbished to offer good quality business space in the heart of Bristol with far reaching views across the city.

Digital TV Labs Ltd, the world’s largest independent digital TV testing company has taken the entire 4th floor, totalling 7,600 sq ft. A further 5000 sq ft has been let by serviced office provider MWB Exchange.

Hannah Waterhouse, Associate Director in the Bristol office agency team at Jones Lang LaSalle said: “These two deals in one of Bristol’s most prominent buildings provide a welcome boost to Bristol’s office market, especially given the time of year. We are also seeing considerable interest in other available space throughout Castlemead, which strikes an optimistic note for the end of 2012.”

Digital TV Labs Ltd Director Owen Byrne said:

“Castlemead offers prestigious offices in a very central location and will provide us with the space to grow and develop new ideas which is essential for us as a specialist in our field. The move will help us attract the high calibre staff we require.”

MWB Business Exchange, a leading provider of serviced offices and workspace solutions, has taken a further 5,000 sq ft to cope with demand for their flexible workplace solutions.

Despite the challenging economic climate, Jones Lang LaSalle are seeing strong interest in Castlemead which was recently acquired by F&C Reit. This is partly due to the extensive refurbishment programme currently being carried out.

Significant improvements have already been made to the building’s reception to provide a spacious waiting area with plasma screen TV and a new digital tenant directory. Other work will include updating the approach to the building, creating additional showers and refurbishing the 16th and 17th floors to provide flexible penthouse style office accommodation.

Castlemead also includes an on-site café, dedicated parking and benefits from flexible lease agreements.
