Radisson Blu Hotel aims to feed minds with new concept

The Radisson Blu Hotel Cardiff is aiming to feed the minds of business delegates with the launch of its new Experience Meetings concept.

The brand-wide initiative brings together the core components of a business meeting – food, connectivity and rooms – but adds a new spin to them by introducing its innovative Brain Food and Brain Box concepts.

An ideal option for businesses wanting to maximise the productivity of their team meetings, the Radisson Blu’s Brain Food has been developed by skilled chefs and nutritionists. Brain Food comprises fresh, well-balanced low-fat and low sugar items, with lots of fresh fish, whole grain products, fruit and vegetables that help keep guests’ blood sugar levels constant, helping them to maintain concentration through the day.

The Brain Food concept is endorsed by registered dietitian and Cardiff Metropolitan University’s senior lecturer in nutrition, Shirley Hinde. She said: “It’s great to see a national hotel-chain recognising the importance of having a well-balanced diet. Food can impact the human body both positively and negatively and it’s important to be aware of this. The type of foods you eat are important to maintain the body’s blood sugar levels. Although fluctuations in blood sugars throughout the day are natural, what is important is to try and avoid extreme fluctuations and it’s good to see that the Radisson Blu is trying to combat this by providing foods that will help keep their guest’s blood sugar levels more constant. I commend them for their new and innovative approach.”

Working with Cardiff-based creativity consultant Prith Biant of The Creative Thinking Company, the Brain Box element of the concept is a breakout space designed to stimulate creativity. Partnering with The Creative Thinking Company means businesses have the option of benefitting from facilitated creative thinking to aid problem solving or creative team development sessions.

Prith said: “A lot of people think creativity is down to personality type but actually everyone can be creative given the right tools. In business, being able to think creatively is essential. One good idea can make a massive difference to a company. It’s great that the Radisson Blu Hotel is being innovative with their Experience Meetings concept by introducing its Brain Food and Brain Box elements, now we can all experience a little bit of a ‘google-esque culture’. I look forward to working with them and offering creativity workshops to their clients.”

The final element of the Experience Meetings proposition is connectivity, with the Cardiff hotel offering free WiFi for all in-house guests and meeting delegates with an impressive 100MB bandwidth.

Jens Hallman: “The Experience Meetings concept combining the Brain Food and Brain Box element is a point of difference for our hotel. There are many hotels in Cardiff and Wales that offer meetings and events facilities but our concept is something unique that brings together all the essential ingredients but elevates them in an innovative way for those businesses looking for something different. When combined with our ‘Yes I can’ service philosophy, we believe we have a recipe for success.”

Experience Meetings is a brand-wide initiative available in over 255 participating Radisson Blu hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, including 24 properties throughout the UK and Ireland.
