CBRE expands Northern Planning Team

L-R: Sam Berry and Tim Sanders, CBRE

CBRE has expanded its Northern Planning and Development Team with the appointment of two new starters joining the Leeds and Manchester Offices.

Sam Berry and Tim Sanders both joined the team at the start of this year, as graduates on CBRE’s Next Generation programme. Sam Berry completed his Masters in Planning at Manchester University, securing a First Class degree, and has joined the Leeds office.

Tim Sanders completed his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Sheffield, securing a Distinction, and has joined the Manchester office.

The Northern Planning and Development team is now 18 people strong. Recent growth follows a successful 2020 for the team, having secured a number of key new instructions and having a strong pipeline of work going into 2021, advising on a range of major development projects across the North of England. Key schemes include Everton Football Club’s proposed new stadium at Bramley Docks, Salford Crescent Masterplan and the Wellington Place Development in Leeds City Centre.

Sam and Tim join the Northern planning team as new planning graduates start in CBRE’s Birmingham and London offices.

Harry Bolton, Planning Director in the Manchester office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam and Tim to the team as they start their planning careers with us on CBRE’s Next Generation programme. We are rapidly growing the planning consultancy business at CBRE, following on from a successful 2020, with a number of major project wins secured across the North of England”.

Oliver Freer, Planning Director in the Leeds office added: “Sam and Tim joining the team demonstrates our commitment as a business to growth, and to bringing in new talent, even during the challenging market conditions faced during 2020. We are thrilled to have them both on board as we look to grow our presence across the North and diversify our sector base while expanding our market share.”
