A specialist motor trader is enjoying a record-breaking performance after moving to smart new premises near Droitwich, thanks to property agents John Truslove.

Dylan McCabe has taken his enthusiasm for high-performance German motors and turned it into a thriving used car business, North Loop Autohaus, named after a stretch of the famous Nurburgring racetrack in Germany.

Despite the coronavirus lockdown Dylan was determined to press ahead with plans to expand into bigger premises.

“We shut down on 23 March, so I was looking at premises online and saw a unit on the Mere Green Business Centre, near Droitwich. I had nothing else to do so I drove out and happened to meet the landlord there.

“John Truslove were the commercial property agents handling the premises and Ben Truslove has been brilliant, providing advice and guidance. The premises are ideal for us. We’ve had a fair amount of work done because we wanted a base that reflected the aspirations of the business – and we see ourselves based here for at least ten years.

“With car parking space it runs to around 18,000 sq ft, compared to the 2,300 sq ft site we had before, but we have been so successful since we started, the business has outstripped all our expectations.

“We have been able to concentrate on premium performance used German vehicles and make ourselves the go-to showroom for enthusiasts like ourselves.

“It’s a nice rural location but still just eight minutes from the M5. Our name, North Loop Autohaus, comes from the German for car dealer and a famous stretch of the Nurburgring racetrack used by German car makers to test their vehicles. I’ve driven there myself three times over the years, but not since we started the business – it’s been too busy.

“There’s terrific demand and that’s come from our reputation for high quality. We don’t buy cars at auctions and we inspect every vehicle to make sure meets our standards. Customers seem to appreciate that attention to detail and the knowledge we bring.

“As a result, once we had the business up and running again and moved into Mere Green, we have seen record-breaking months of trading.”

Ben Truslove, joint managing director at commercial property agents John Truslove, secured a five year lease for the landlord, Rufus Ulyet, on Unit 2 at the Mere Green Business Centre, which comprises 7,443 sq ft of showroom, workshop and office space.

He said: “These are high quality premises, finished to an excellent standard, providing the ideal home for an ambitious business such as North Loop Autohaus, which is targeted at the premium end of the used vehicle market.

“We were delighted to work with them, helping them take the next step in their progress while securing an excellent tenant for our landlord. We wish them every success.”

Mr Truslove added: “This deal, and others like it, show that despite the problems of the pandemic businesses continue to grow and plan for the future. Here at John Truslove our unrivalled knowledge of the local market means we are in prime position to help, securing excellent deals for both landlords and tenants.”

Landlord Rufus Ulyet added: “I am quite impressed with John Truslove who recently let my business unit at Mere Green Business Village to North Loop Autohaus. The letting was achieved fairly quickly and North Loop are a very progressive sound business, very easy to deal with, and I am sure will prove good long term tenants.

“John Truslove also let my unit number 3 at Mere Green Business Village three years ago to a very good company and recently negotiated a lease extension . If I have a unit coming empty John Truslove are the company I approach. I can recommend them whole heartedly.”

Nishad Alkram from Redditch solicitors Astwood Law acted for North Loop Autohaus. Landlord Rufus Ulyet was advised by Ian Long from Cox & Hodgetts Solicitors of Evesham.
