Firethorn breaks ground on 37-acre prime industrial scheme near Northampton

Real estate investor and developer, Firethorn Trust, has broken ground at Northampton Cross, a 37-acre speculative industrial development in Milton Ham.

Designed to attract a diverse range of occupiers, provide a boost to the local jobs market and bring economic benefits to the wider region, Northampton Cross will deliver 354,000 sq ft of highly specified logistics space with units ranging from 52,000 sq ft to 250,000 sq ft.

Chris Webb, Partner, Firethorn Trust said: “This is an exciting step as we start work on delivering this Grade A logistics space in such a strategic location, close to the M1, major road networks and amenities. As well as being easily accessible, by dedicating space to open green areas, trim trails and outdoor gym equipment, we’re able to create an attractive place to work for employees.”

Firethorn has appointed Midlands-based A&H Construction to deliver the scheme, which is set for completion in summer 2021. The development will incorporate sustainable technologies including roof mounted solar panels and multiple electric vehicle charging points.

Chris continued: “A&H Construction stood out because of their established reputation for delivering outstanding projects in the industrial sector. As well as being able to advance our vision for the scheme, their commitment to delivering high quality projects and finding the best solutions closely resonated with our own values, so it is a great fit.”

Steve Cutler, Construction Director at A&H Construction said: “We are pleased to be working with Firethorn on this development, and to incorporate Firethorn’s sustainable initiatives and design principles to deliver quality warehousing solutions for occupiers.”

Strategically located immediately off junction 15a of the M1, with prime links to transport networks and the A43, Northampton Cross is situated within the “Golden Triangle” of logistics. The site lies adjacent to the Swan Valley Industrial Estate, which is occupied by Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Royal Mail, Carlsberg and other prominent businesses.

All enquiries regarding Northampton Cross should be directed to the scheme’s retained agents, DTRE and LSH.
