Lockdown no bar to tile business launch

A new wholesale and retail supplier of tiles and stonework from India has launched at premises on Solopark Trading Estate in Pampisford, South Cambridgeshire.

Confirmation of the letting of new showroom premises for Avira Ltd – trading as Avira Tiles & Stones – comes from Barker Storey Matthews (now part of Eddisons) who acted as sole agent on behalf of the landlord in the deal.

The specialist tile business now trades from 2,542 sq ft (236 sq m) of modern showroom premises in Unit 4a at the Trading Estate on which is has taken a new lease.

In seeking showroom premises from which to launch his new business, Popat Godhaniya, Managing Director, Avira Tiles & Stones – who has business interests in a number of locations across South Cambridgeshire – had quite exacting requirements.

He explained, “I needed the showroom to be not too distant from my other businesses in the district, one of which is in Barrington, and also accessible to contract and private customers in a large catchment area.

“I also wanted high quality premises which were bright and airy from where we could showcase our range of premium products to their best advantage.

“Solopark Trading Estate ticked all these boxes and we opened for business at the end of last month (September).”

Ben Green of Barker Storey Matthews Cambridge office added, “Lockdown has been no bar to the plans of this new business.

“It’s a vote of confidence in the trading park’s property offering and the economy of the wider district that new businesses are confident to take on new leases on commercial property.

“This latest letting to Avira Tiles and Stones means there is limited availability of similar units at the trading estate. There is just a terrace of four industrial units available to let as singular units or in combination.”
