Shop letting completes despite Covid-19 closures

Commercial property agents Keygrove Chartered Surveyors have confirmed the letting of 403 Shirley Road, Southampton, which has completed despite the current Corona restrictions. The shop unit is situated opposite the new Lidl supermarket and requires internal refurbishment and the new tenant has taken the opportunity to undertake the refurbishment works at this time.

Lauren Udall, Surveyor with Keygrove says “This letting shows confidence in the retail market in Shirley and despite market conditions many of the local small businesses remain open for business with social distancing measures in place. It is actually very positive to see the number of businesses in Shirley adapting to the current lockdown.”

Keygrove are marketing a number of shop units along Shirley Road and Shirley High Street and are able to present units via video tours on the Keygrove website and other leading commercial property search websites.

Lauren continues “We have recently successfully let 110 Shirley High Street, opposite Sainsbury’s precinct; we have sold the freehold of 48 Shirley High Street; and we have agreed terms to let 43 Shirley High Street. We still have availability at 201 Shirley Road near the junction with Howard Road and Paynes Road, the retail unit includes a first floor flat and forecourt car parking, and we are about to commence the marketing of a prominent shop unit at 1A Gordon Buildings, Shirley High Street.”

“Despite the gloom surrounding the demise of many of the major multiple retailers in city centres we continue to see strong demand in neighbourhood shopping streets such as Shirley and Portswood. Full details are available on the Keygrove website.”
